Digital Marae Wānanga | Kaupapa Overview

Ko tō marae tētahi o ngā marae i tono, ā, i riro i tō marae tētahi pūhera herenga.  Kua whiwhia e koutou tētahi tono, ki te whakaemi mai mō tētahi wānanga, ki te tautoko ngā marae me ā rātou kaitiaki, ā, kia whai hua i roto i tēnei ao matihiko.  Ko te āhuatanga o tēnei akoranga, he noho marae, e toru ngā rā, me kī, he wīkene. 

Ka riro i ā koutou kaitiaki marae ngā taputapu kia ako:

  • Me pēhea te whakamahi tētahi rorohiko me te Wi-Fi.
  • Haumaru-ā-ipurangi me te tiaki pai-ā-ipurangi.
  • Tūhononga-ā-ngahau.
  • Mariko whakawhitiwhiti – huitopa, hui-ā-ataata.
  • Kōrero: Putunga-ā-mauhanga, Putunga-ā-ipurangi.
  • Pūtea-ā-ipurangi - penapena pūtea, ngā pire.
  • Ngā tāpui marae, me te tiaki rawa. 

Now, more than ever, technology keeps us connected to our whānau, our workplace and the world. We’ve seen a huge shift to using digital devices to make doctor’s appointments, shop online, access bank accounts or attend meetings via video calls. 

Through technology, our marae will have the opportunity to enhance their connectivity and capabilities to create opportunities that benefit our whānau, hapū, and iwi. 

As one of the marae who applied for and received a marae connectivity pack, you’re invited to attend our Digital Marae Wānanga event specifically designed to help marae and their kaitiaki get the most out of being digitally connected.  

Delivered noho style during one weekend (Friday to Sunday), each Marae representative will receive hands-on training and capability development to confidently manage and utilise the newly installed marae connectivity devices and services.  

Over the wānanga, you will complete 8 workshop sessions covering the following topics: 

  • How to use a computer and WiFi 
  • Internet security and keeping safe online 
  • Basic social media networking 
  • Virtual communication - video calls 
  • Document and online information storage 
  • Online finance - banking, accounts, bill payments 
  • Marae bookings and asset maintenance
